A 40 year (contextualized) social work journey

Employing critical autoethnography, this article conveys how over my four decades of social work, I have come to adopt a contextualized work stance and identifies what emerge as key areas work. These include attention race, ethnicity culture experienced in the local environment, articulation conditions appropriate responses, activation knowledge generation curation, finally, addressing resisting expert power. Such theorization augments previous that positions countering dominant conceptualizations instead centering on interrogation local, foregrounding understandings conditions, privileging local/(i)Indigenous production ways doing being. This understanding context unsettles notions by focusing power relationships. hope story will add growing discussion regarding alternative modes practice education counter Westernized individualized perspectives promote decolonized approaches.
